Choosing an LMI / Liccon Repairer (and Why It's Specialist Work)

Why it's specialist

A Load Moment Indicator keeps a crane operating within its load chart. Get the repair or calibration wrong and the machine is either unsafe or unusable. It needs manufacturer training, the right software and the diagnostic kit — not trial-and-error part swapping.

The gap in the market

General diesel mechanics often don't have the training or software; OEM networks won't touch a competitor's brand. That leaves mixed-fleet operators stuck.

What to look for

Manufacturer training such as Liebherr Liccon 1 and 2, authorised repairer status for systems like Robway, on-site calibration capability, and the ability to return the machine within manufacturer specification — with documentation for your compliance file.

A worked example

A power station's 50-tonne crane was shutting down unexpectedly from a faulty LMI. Diagnosed, repaired and calibrated on site, it was back within manufacturer spec — and the client said so.
